Show me your SAVINGS!!!

10 May

Because I chose to be a stay at home mommy and not work outside the home (at least for the time being), I decided to begin budgeting our money better so that we could afford for me to stay home with my kiddos. I’ve always been pretty good at keeping our finances in order but I never realized I could take it one step further with the use of COUPONS!

Last year I discovered, well actually my sis discovered, this great site called: thecentsableshoppin.com

At first I was hesitant to check it out…

(Sis): Sandy I found this coupon blog that shows you how to use coupons to save a ton of money on everything from groceries to toilet paper!

(Me): But I already save a lot of $$…I price match & shop the sales in the ads

(Sis): But with coupons you can get FREE stuff!

(Me): FREE????

BINGO! That was the key word for me, LOL

Shortly after, I realized that this website had a lot to offer besides just info on how to get free stuff & the community of “freapers” is awesome as well.

So far, I’ve done pretty good at sticking to my budget each and every week which is $50 a week (this includes groceries, toiletries, clothes). I’ve gotten to the point where I usually don’t spend over $25-$30 a week for these items. So I’ve decided to begin chronicling some of my freapy (centsableshoppin term) shopping trips on my blog and list the  coupons I used to get these deals. In doing so, I hope that others will be motivated to try couponing as well!
